The GoPro Hero 10 Black, the company's current flagship action camera, was released recently, with dramatic improvements over its predecessor.

While the look has not yet changed, you do receive a new custom chip, enhanced photo and video capabilities, and a lot more this time around. All of these enhancements, though, come at a slightly greater cost.

So, let's talk about it. Shall we?

Specifications & Features:

First and foremost, GoPro has improved the brains of its action camera. It has introduced a new GP2 system-on-chip, which is an advancement over the GP1 technology that appeared with the Hero 6 Black in 2017.

The new GP2 microprocessor doubles the frame rate, improves speed, and delivers more sensitive touch controls.

The GoPro Hero 10 Black preserves its predecessor's 23.6MP sensor. Nevertheless, it can now take up to 23MP still snaps and record up to 5.3K @ 60FPS video. That's a substantial improvement over the Hero 9 Black (review), which only handled 20MP stills and 5K At 30FPS video capture.

You may also record 4K @120FPS and 2.7K @ 240FPS footage to improve your travel vlogs or daredevil films.

If that isn't enough, this top action camera also allows you to frame capture 19.6MP stills from a 5.3K movie, which is remarkable.

The GoPro Hero 10 Black has four photographic modes: burst, night photo, extreme photo, and raw photo.

With HyperSmooth 4.0, the Hero 10 Black also enhances video stabilisation, allowing you to produce smooth movies at up to 5.3K @ 30FPS. The camera also has a horizon levelling up to 45 degrees and a new hydrophobic (and water-shedding) glass lens cover.

Finally, the Hero 10 Black retains the same 1,720mAh battery as its predecessor, so don't anticipate any substantial gains in battery life.

Price & Where to buy?

The GoPro Hero 10 Black prices $499, which is $50 more than the Hero 9 Black from the year before.

You may, however, purchase it for $399 if you also obtain a $50 one-year GoPro membership. So, how do you feel about this upgrade?
